Our story starts in 2018, with our founder, Shamma; then a 20-year-old student at Dundee University. Frustrated with constantly losing the battle of staying fit whilst being bombarded with exams and essay deadlines, Shamma set out to find a solution. Here, the idea of Active Bistro was born – a simple, delicious, and affordable way to eat healthy when life gets busy.

A dream turned reality, Active Bistro has since gone from strength to strength and now fuels thousands of customers across the UK including professional athletes, award winning actors & CEO’s.

From our sauces to our seasoning, everything we make is made from scratch by our Chefs, using the freshest produce around. If we can’t pronounce, we don’t use it - so you can be assured that there are no preservatives or other artificial nasties in any of our meals or treats.
Whether it’s for fruit & vegetables or custom packaging, we try to use family-owned, Scottish-based suppliers wherever possible. As a small business based in Dundee City, we work hard to support other local businesses and give back to our community.
Our Chefs can bring the wealth of experience gained whilst working in a wide range of 2-3 AA rosette hotels & restaurants to your next celebration. From birthday parties to corporate canapés or even a casual afternoon tea platter, we’re sure to be able to cater for all.
